i have come across a very specific problem during work. problems are fun to solve but not when it slows you down with work that you should be doing. thats why i am creating goofy pdfs. not only will it help me learn to create desktop software, ill have a very lightweight software that can solve my problem.
what about any of the other MANY pdf viewers?
currently, without saying too much about our processes, we use adobe acrobat. which is bloated and annoying when you have to reinstall it many times in a day for one single pdf. other options after researching, didnt do exactly what i need it to do. they are either big, bloated, or only a viewer.
so what is goofy pdfs?
goofy pdfs is described as a very lightweight, minimal pdf viewer and editor, packed into a single file for easy portability. no installation. the work flow would be to open the pdf, fill in some checkboxes and text boxes, and save that pdf as a new file to a chosen location.
here is an early UI work in progress:
locations are roughly where they need to be but not final. colors are placeholders.
thats about it, just a quick overview of what im going for with this project!
